How do they know it's coming from your account? It's pretty easy for spammers etc to make it look like it's coming from your email address if that's the only indication that it's "coming from you".
Do you have a copy of the letters? I'm actually more concerned that an ISP like Sky asked you to reinstall anything, never mind Windows (which would in itself indicate a severe lack of technical knowledge by the person who wrote the letter and hence are most likely wrong about there being anything wrong with your email). I'd have told them to get lost."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

it sounds more like your sky email address has been hacked and my first port of call would be to go and change my settings and change my password
so double check the 'back up' email address is one of yours and then reset your password
then go to your 'back up' account and check those details
its so easy to send emails form your address without actually being on your computers all they need to know is your log on details and reinstalling windows will not change your passwords for your accounts as the most it will do is get rid of any virus's on yoru system for which they used to get your account details - now they have them it doesnt matter how many times you reinstall windows they can still use your account untill those details are changedDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -

Was it a letter or email from Sky?
Why on earth would they ask you to re-install windows on 3 laptops because of unsolicited emails being sent according to Sky from your account?
Did they not ask you to run antivirus/malware scans?0
