When i was overcharged £1.80 by my local Asda and the Manager himself refused to rectify or give me a refund for the items I was over charged for ,I explained it would be a shame to lose a customer for the sake of £1.80 to be told -
now i know my measly £600 ish quid monthly spend means nothing to these people ,I am not naive but to be so blase about it ?!
"*Laugh* Thats your loss ,not ours "
Yes ,that is the contempt that we secretly know store managers feel towards individual custom but to be so cocky about is just one step too far !!now i know my measly £600 ish quid monthly spend means nothing to these people ,I am not naive but to be so blase about it ?!

Absolutely agree lodge a complaint with head office, I have always found Asda customer service in general to be OKish certainly never come across anything like this, maybe he does not like his job anymore????
ANyway now being owned by all American Wallmart CS will probably be quite imprtant to head office definately make a decent complaint."You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
Definitely write to Head Office (perhaps call first to get a name to address it to). In my experience, when I've complained about items being discontinued or somesuch then I just get a bland, meaningless reply. However when I complained about a conversation between the checkout operator and customers behind me (Asda employees in uniform) which was running down their Eastern European colleagues it was a far more detailed reply and sounded really genuine. I hope these people got a formal warning for it.
I think the way you were treated is appalling customer service and they need to be aware of that. They are trying to catch up on other supermarkets at the moment and they won't do it that way!
P.S. I came on here to say I actually compared my receipt on line and got a voucher! So it does work. And I also make a point of going to Customer Services when I've experienced good service in Asda too.0 -
good luck with speaking to HO, i complained about a store a few weeks ago and Ho were useless!!!0

If you were overcharged then maybe trading standards would be intrested as it is illegal0

I know EXACTLY what you mean about Asda's attitude to customers. About 2 years ago a CSA was unbelievably rude to me when I returned a piece of meat that was rotten and had been sold at full price 20 mins before the store closed, on the sell by date.
I had been polite with the CSA, she bluntly told me that she wouldn't help and when I asked to see the Manager she looked me up and down and said;
" You're not worth it".
Yes, honestly! I still can't believe it!
I called the Manager who simply wouldn't acknowledge her rudeness and just refunded the cost of the meat, so I wrote to Head Office. They would not acknowledge it either and basically said sorry the meat was off!
As a result, I haven't shopped at that Asda since and in fact do most of my shop now at Sainsburys or Tesco. Before that, I did all of my shopping wth Asda. Vote with your feet. Times are tough and if you don't get the service you expect, it will be THEIR loss, not yours.0 -
