Advice for my mum - Giving up work/going on sick

Im after some advice for my mum
She currently works as a heath care assistant at a hospital and mainly works nights.
She had a small stroke about a year ago - she still works 28ish hours a week but her heath is suffering now.
She gets really bad head aches and has just recently been for a MRI scan and blood tests etc

We want to know the options if she gives up work, or cuts her hours down

As she works nights she get extra 1/3 on top of her wages, and im worried about living costs and how we will cope

She gets £19 ish a week WTC
Also 25% CT Discount (2nd adult rebate for myself)

Currently she earns around £1000-1100 a month after tax
If she did same hours but days, she would get around £300 less a month I think her basic hours are £800-900 before tax, rest is nights, unsociable hours etc

She likes her job, but finds it hard as its very full on.
Its stressing her out worrying after me and my arthritis and depression too and kind of think it would be best for me to move out but then i dont know if i can afford to :(

dont know what to do for the best

    Bumb...
She says she doesnt feel ready to go back to work
How long would she get SSP for ?
What happens then, is it ESA? Any other benefits or anything?

SSP is paid for 28 weeks and then it's ESA.

NHS sick pay is slighty different...its depending on length of service and generally 1year of service = 1 month full pay.
So talking sake 6years service = 6mth full pay and then 6mth half pay then onto statutory sick pay.

Maybe worth getting self referred to occy health too as they may be able to offer some support/advice whilst off sick.

NHS sometimes offer phased return as well so she could cut her hours short term and work up to normal hours while getting her normal hours - I think my mother did it over 3-4months

Shes been there around 3 years now
She had some time off sick too about 2 years ago after her stroke

I think if she goes back at all she should look for work on another less stressfull ward maybe and do less hours but dont know what options she will have yet.
