commet faultly tv wont refund after 10 month help

Hi i bought a tv for my mum and dad 10 month ago just before dig switch over to help them out as they dont understand thing like that anyway it worked quite fine for 10 months did turn its self off every now and again but always sorted itself out well switched back on, and i also bought extra insurance , as i dint want it breaking on them all together it cost £493.00 but it gave me pieace of mind with extra protect, thought well it will be that sorted for 6 yrs anyway, after 10 month tv broke and my mums really ill, bed bound infact so i took the tv back to the store they was rude and unhelpfull told me to take it home and someone would be round to fix it, i explained about my mums illness and asked if repairer could pick up in store they said ok after an hour of wondering what i was gonna do as my mum dint want stangers in the house. anyway six wk later they sent a letter saying they would replace it or refund if i bought on sale , so went back to shop and they said no chance we will give you store card up to the vaule less the extra care i paid for, as i had oreadyb bought my mum a new tv, as she has been unable to leave to house for months tv is the only thing she can get some enjoyment out of, feeling bad about buying them one that broken i felt reasonable seein as they paid and trusted me to pick one, store are refusing a refund of the full amount cash what can i do as there is not any thing else i want from there store. so upset feel like am being looked down on when i went instore there so rude, to take that much money off you and they dont care less if something goes wrong, they treat you like your trying to steel from them , not trying to get what i paid for , so much for paying for extra care , i thought u got a full refund within first 12 month, dont know what to do now:(:(:(
