Dr Who finale party - food ideas ...

For the finale for the current Dr Who series, my daughter (8) wants to invite her fellow fans over to watch it together. I think it's a great idea and now I'm trying to come up with food ideas. So far ...

Dalek pizzas: shaped pizzas with pepperoni knobby bits
Tardis pizzas????? Something that's bigger on the inside and is blue?????
Cybermen gingerbread men with silver icing
Orange sponge that looks like fish fingers, served with a custard dip

Any practical ideas on how to do this?

If current series what about Vampires of Venice bites - sandwiches with bread stick fangs?
    Dreamlord drinks - coke/fanta floats?

Could get the mini tube of icing and plain cup cakes and have a design the alien competiton.

Tardis lemonade? Put a drop of blue food colouring into an ice cube tray top up with water and freeze. Add blue cubes to the lemonade.

Wow, what fantastic ideas. My daughter absolutely loves the apple competition. Also, the sandwiches with fangs ... Who cares about the children, this is going to be fun for us grown ups too.

Not sure this is a bit to much effort but how about one of these.http://www.chocablog.com/recipes/dalek-chocolate-cake/

I am making one of these for my nephews birthday or attempting to anyway!

I brought a Green's dr who themed biscuit mix from Poundland at Christmas that had a Darlek cookie cutter, which I've obviously kept. It makes cool biscuits. Might be worth tracking them down?

Dalek cakes - make muffins, take them out of the cases and place top down to make the dalek shape. Decorate with icing and other bits :)

Alternative Blind Man's Buff: The Weeping Angels

    Child 1 is blinfolded.
Child 2 is the 'sonic beep' at other end of the room.
Other chidren are the Angels, having to stay still in scary poses.

Child 1 has to find her way around the room, without touching an angel, guided only by the beeping of Child 2. ( Slow beeps for clear path, faster beeps for proximity).

Works if you have a lot of room!

For the cake "fishfingers" either cover them in orange icing or roll them in jam and desicated coconut that you have coloured orange with food colouring.
You would make rectangular tardis pasties or calzone. I'm not sure how well blue pastry/pizza dough would retain it's colour when baked, but it's worth a try. Another idea would be to make a big pie in a really deep dish, then disguise the depth of the dish so it is bigger than it looks. Or have lots of little pies hiding inside a big one. Hope that makes some sense.
