Magaluf or San Antonio Bay, please help.

Hiya,
can you please give me some advice. Me and the bloke have, for the last 3 years went to Magaluf in October- cheap- no kids- quiet-not too hot. We now know the place like the back of our hand. Last year, for the first time ever, we went A.I, because is was cheaper than s.c!! This year I've started to check out prices and found that Ibiza is only £40 dearer than Majorca.

I have never really fancied Ibiza, was put right off by the notorious Ibiza undercover from years ago.My pal says that I would really enjoy the place, we want to stay at San Antonio Bay- the Nautilus/Hawaii hotel. Is it about the same to eat out/night out/activities.

I don't know what to do- Magaluf or San Antonio?? Please help me MSE's.
Thanks.
RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

San An bay is good. You can get boats and buses to other nearby beaches, buses to Ibiza Town. I'd just book a hotel that is quiet, so you can sleep when you want to.

I think drinking in those main bars in the West End can be expensive.

Yes, there are loads of hotels on the other side of SA Bay - away from the noise but easy access & nice views over to the town. Lots of German & Dutch tourists favour the area & there are some hotels which appear totally non-uk. Haven't been for 3 years so don't know how prices compare now.

Ibiza is brill. I hate clubbing etc, but I took my grannie to SA and we stayed at the Gran Sol. Away from the maddening crowd.

I recalled the Hawaii as a hotel that I was pleased we didnt get off at (we all know that feeling of anticipation).

I would avoid Magaluf and get down and treny in SA.Get over to Ibiza town as well for a nose round and Santa Eulalia. The Hippy Market is pricey ona tour bus, investigate public transport as it is cheap.

Hippy market excursions are a rip-off. There is a better one in Playa den Bossa apparently.

  • i hated the thought of Ibiza but ended up booking a late deal in October to playa den Bossa - absolutely loved it stayed a Hotel Don Toni would definately go again don't know about high season though kids loved it (2 & 15) lots of stuff still open and weather great
i'm living in a parallel universe
  • Thanks very much.Hoping to get to Ibiza, only hope I don't get there and wish that I'd gone to Magaluf. The hotel Hawaii looks nice, and has had ok reviews, its pretty much a mixed bag for all the hotels offered.

hi i went to san antonio bay a couple of years ago and loved the playa bella apartments (we booked through my travel - although you can book it through sunstart which is part of the first choice group)

san antonio bay's great as you can hope into a taxi or boat and be in san antonio in 5 mins. the main street in san antonio bay is really good too with loads of places to eat to choose from.

i have to say that was the best holiday ive been on so far and much prefered it to salou and majorca - it was also quiet enough but not so quiet that it was boring if you know what i mean lol

    hope that helps you x

Get your !!! to Ibiza. You'll lov it. I agree that magaluf is really nice but be try summit new an go to Ibiza. its not too busy that time of the year too.
  • Sweet- I'm going to try and get the deal for Ibiza, don't think any of the big clubs are open, think they all close sept/end sept, which will please my bloke 'cos he isn't a dancer anyway. Sure there'll be plenty of nice clubs to visit without paying a fortune to get into. I'll give BCMs a miss this year and try Ibiza- woohoo, holiday, thanks y'all. You've helped me make my mind up!
