HI, I wondered if you could halp me;
My partner recently took up a trial membership with an online social site.
As my patner had forgotten to cancel the membership before the due date the company have taken out the full months membership from her account.
She is now wondering what she can do to get the monies back if this is at all possible.
She has emailed the company but they state no refunds will be given. the cancellation happened on the date of renewal and they had already at that point taken the money. Is this legal, should there not be a notice from the company stating they are taking money? when etc... also should they not notify the user that the trial is comming to an end before just assuming the user wants to carry on?
Plese let me know, anything would be usefull.
regards
Ron

This is all perfectly legal and very common, you have no real chance of getting your money back.
Just double check the T&C's and make sure they state the same, if so you are bound by them and will have to count your losses and just cancel before your next notice period date.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Consider this a tax on your forgetfulness.0 -

If fact it is exactly the way that The Consumer's Association sell Which? magazine.0 -
Absolutely no way of getting money back, as it was her mistake. Make sure she cancels before they take another payment out!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
