Theft -do we tell insurer?

    Hasn't it been suggested several times in this forum that the FOS has taken a stand on this issue to the effect that, if the policy breach (in this case non-compliant locks) didn't cause or allow the loss, then the insurer can't use said breach to deny the claim?
    42 years of experience in the insurance industry.
    And nothing the industry tries do to us surprises me any more!

    No idea what is being said about that (sounds fair though!) but in my situation it wasn't non compliant locks that allowed the loss - more my failure to use all the locks available. If we had locked our mortice I don't think they would have been able to get in with so little effort
