Interesting thread...I read about this on the PO website but couldn't figure out how it was different to the standard postage online service (apart from the charge). Now I know!
A bit OT but I can't help thinking that with those barcodes that all online postage items have, and the fact that they presumably get checked for size/weight somewhere along the line, it ought to be possible for them to record which items have actually been sent, thereby bypassing the need to queue up for a POP. But I'm sure custardy will be along with a good reason why they don't/can't do that!:www: :: MFi3 ::

They have obviously responded to the small offices refusing to deal with online postage. Important to Royal Mail, as there is no cost of producing a stamp, delivering it by secure transport to offices etc. I bombard them with complaints about this. Proof of purchase should be enough for a compensation claim. It would not result in a large amount of fraud, as they keep records of all claims. You could then drop your items at the depot with no waiting around.0

They are recorded. If you buy online and don't post then you can claim a refund if you wait 7 days.
I'm not sure why they've got expiry dates of the end of the next working day on them. What would happen if you post in a letterbox after the last collection, would it get returned because it's expired?0
