Copper tape for slugs

I have four that I bought from Ebay and yep they do! I usually find about 10 slugs floating in mine every few days.0

Yuckity. At least with pellets they crawl away not to be seen lol. Or at least mine appear to!0

yeah it is pretty grim! took me a few days to pluck up the courage to empty them the first time!0

Problem is with pellets, if you have birds in the garden and they eat the dead/dying slug it can affect them as well
What happens if you have slugs in the pots already? Is it game over? I emptied out a couple of my pots to fill with fresh compost and plant up for summer only to find a couple of really big horrible light brown slugs in the broken crocks at the bottom :eek:
What do these do? do they just crawl out of the bottom of the pot, up the pot and munch? or do they munch from the inside at the roots?
Obviously I got rid of the ones I found, but how do you protect from them doing this? Obviously some sort of mesh over the drainage holes might help.
Will get some of the copper tape shown as well, thanks for info on that.0
