Cheap NYC hotel for 1 night?

Hi all, this is my first post on here but I was wondering whether anyone could help. I need a room in NYC preferably mid to down town areas for one night on 15th of June. I don't want to pay a lot as I get in after midnight and leave again by 7.30 the next morning! Most of the hotels are super expensive, or hostels and super scary!!
If anyoen has any suggestions I would be soo greatful

Thanks

Look at staying a bit further North, up by Bronx zoo for cheaper hotels. Or out of Manhatten in Brooklyn or Newark

A cheap hotel in downtown/midtown Manhattan does not exist.

The Pod Hotek is coming up at $159 + tax for that night, which isn't too bad for NYC

Airport hotel, or one nearby? Where do you fly into?

There is always the YMCA (either Vanderbilt or West Side).
    Perfectly clean and safe.
You can get a single room for about $70 or $80 a night, but to be honest depending on which airport you will fly into/out of, you are likely to spend all the time travelling to/from the airport, so maybe an airport hotel would be a better bet.

The Lotus is right near times square and pretty cheap - $124 according to expedia for your date. Your own room but a shared shower. However, you are only in NYC for 7 hours?? Stay near the airport for sure, remember even a shared minivan is $30ish after tip etc each way, plus all the time it would waste.
  • Thank you everyone, I think I may stay in Newark as that's where I'm flying into or just get a hostel.
