I have tried the tracking number on the royal mail site but the number is not registering as trackable .Is t likley paypal will find in her favour if she has these details
when I looked at some of my proof of postage receipts what has given me is on the receipt as session prefix is this right
Is is trackable or is she pulling the wool over mine and possibly paypals eyes

OK, paypal require the item to show as delivered, merely providing tracking is not good enough and paypal won't be interested. Make sure you keep in corresondence with paypal, respond to anything you get and keep reiterating that item has not been delivered.
Should it suddenly show as delivered online then again keep on at paypal especially if the tracking she has used doesn't track to your local office, I have heard some scammers will use a 'catch all' tracking number, but paypal if pushed will ask the seller for a scan of the actual receipt showing the full postal address and post code that relates to the tracking. Incidentally, that is why sellers should only send to the paypal address as paypal require the tracking to show delivery to the paypal address only, and no other.
If this person is an out and out scammer, and at the moment I don't think this is the case, then they may try to send you something tracked just so they have your signature. If you can, and I realise it might not be possible, check what they send, open the envelope and make sure it is the vouchers before you sign. If you have a good postman and can explain to him that you believe someone is tryig to defraud you, he may let you do this.
PM me if you want more information.

I wondered that...there is this misconception that you just need to send something tracked to be safe on paypal, this is suggested over and over again on the unregulated groups. Looking at the post again though I wonder if it is just the barcode reference on the printed receipt, which isn't going to help the seller at all.
This looks like another seller who believes they have no responsibility once they put something in the post, and no doubt they will soon be telling their sob story about being conned by paypal to all and sundry.

If it's a proper number it MUST have these:
Begin in two letters (ZV, ZH or DK on the examples I have here)
Followed by 9 numbers
End in 'GB'My TV is broken!
