I don't check mine as often as I should. You might want to buy a tyre pressure guage and/or a pump with a built in guage.

I've had one like this for years. You could probably get one cheaper elsewhere.0 -
I got one of these > http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=49038
4 in 1 = Guage, compressor, jump leads and light. Operates from it's own internal battery.
Having no power in my garage, I find it very handy for my bike."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

There's a more recent Auto Express review of gauges:

If you want a good source of tyre gauges then I'd recommend The International Tool Company:

A basic tyre pressure gauge can be had for very little, I have seen them in Poundland, though they may not be very accurate. We have a simple foot pump with included gauge which works well enough.
You should technically check your tyres once a week when they are cold...Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
I've had and used a compressor for years, digital display. Never been to a garage to put air in.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Simple pen style pressure gauge and tread depth measuring tool in the glovebox (about £4). Both used every week.0

How much does it cost at a garage?0

Varies. Many are still free but some have coin operated machines.0
