Sell these on Ebay or scrap yard?!

Hi..I managed to scrape the door and sill on my BMW 525, after owning it for just 3 weeks!..so badly that they needed replacing..tryin to claw whatever I can back from it....I've noticed that there are a few doors etc on ebay, none with bids...has anyone expereince of selling items like this?...haven't been to scrap yard yet but would think I woulkd be looking at maybe £20 there, so looking to beat it if poss

    Have you checked the completed listings? It's in advanced search lots of people won't bid until the last seconds so a better indication would be completed listings.

    Eay is ok for selling car bits, collect only in the case of doors of course. I scrapped a transit and had buyers from 200 miles away buy bits.

    I'd sell it in bits. Door handles, the locking system, window switches and electric motors, even the window itself.

    Just break it down into as many parts as you can, and sell it piece by piece.
    Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

    Doubt if the scrap yard would give you more than a fiver for it, if they even accepted it. Most around my way will only pay 30quid for an entire car!

    Doors have a value on ebay. I sold 2 doors last year, one bloke came 150miles to buy one off me!

    As someone else said, break the door into bits if you want more money, but for the best price, cant you just reskin the door and sell it as a recon door? I reskinned a door a while back, the new door skin cost me 15quid, took me about 45minutes to do and I ended up selling the door for about £60 on ebay.
