Some interesting replies, particularly questioning the value of a benefits-free Barclaycard. I amassed thousand of points with mine with which I bought a digital camera, but they scrapped them a while ago. They also did free extended warranties on electrical goods - no more. They don't charge me an annual fee, but loads of cards don't.
3% on cash advances may be reasonable, but they charged me 66% more than that - 5%. And as has been pointed out, fees do count as part of the APR. I just think that 69% figure should be more widely known, to prevent people getting stung. As I said I needed cash there and then to pay for my B&B before catching an early train, so I was forced into the transaction (still can't understand why the ATM - Halifax, I think - wouldn't give me cash on my Connect card, but would on the credit card).0 -
