Decking Help

We need to stain our decking, bout 4m by 3.5m plus. Its been there over winter with only protector I managed to apply during a short dry spell. But am looking for a few tips.
We were going to clean it with the pressure washer and then use oil as I like that look it has when its clean and wet. BUT while treating the fences dh got it on the decking . We have raised seats around the edge made from decking and they have suffered the most. The colour is "golden harvest", not what I had in mind for the decking. Is there anyway to get it off? Sand it off maybe?
Also whats better stain or oil? And what type of product? Not read the most positive things about ronseal here on ether oil or stain.
