Doe's anyone know of a life insurance/assurance that will insure someone with previous drug use and for seeking advise about redusing the ammount of alcohol they drink?? Aviva have just refused to cover (

It depends on several factors including when and which drug(s).

Unfortunately there is now an added complication due to the fact that Aviva have declined your application. This can prejudice future applications as almost all insurers include a question to enquire about this.

In other words, even if there were a provider who worded the drug use question in such a way that you did not need to disclose it (e.g. some state 'apart from cannabis...' or another may ask 'in the last 5 years...') you will still need to disclose it under 'have you ever been declined insurance...'

The latter point also applies to alcohol use but again, depending when you were advised to reduce intake, how high your alcohol intake was and the results of any liver tests etc would determine if or how much of a problem that may cause.
