Bumping the thread coz I wanna know if a 4GB SDHC class 4 would be fine with this cam.
It says that a class 6 SD required for HD movie recording but does that apply for SDHCs as well?

Imho it's worth buying a spare battery as I have the Panasonic Lumix TZ7 and the battery runs flat v quickly. As another poster said above, you now have to buy the panasonic, not generic battery which is a bit annoying as it's more expensive, but less annoying than wanting to take a shot and the battery's flat. I've had to use the aftersales CS at panasonic and they were quite helpful as well (phone support)

I have a Panansonic Lumix DMC-FZ38, this has a Panasonic battery which is about the size of 2 X AA batteries joined together.
On holidays I have found that I do not have to charge it up at all, I have taken 500+ photos and about an hour of HD video and the battery is still about 1/3 rd full (according to the meter). A lot of my pics are taken at night using the flash and it amazes me. I still take my charger but have never needed it.
