the short answer is almost certainly no, especially if you don't know what one is.
what makes you think you need WINS?0 -
TBH pjread, i`m having problems with Facebook, but my neighbours can get on fine..so i`m trying to find out if theres a problem with my set up..my ping test failed as well.
I am no techie so i cant work out wht is going wrong..

Cannot see why you would need this your ISP should be providing you with their DNS settings and therefore I would assume it is an issue with either malware on your PC or alternatively your ISP updating their DNS but a site like facebook should still be fine. Would suggest clearing your local DNS Cache.
Might be worth rebooting your router too.
Can you ping it's IP instead of its Domain Name?

hi omen666,
i changed to tlk tlk in february, just plugged the router in and that was it..still use my old FS email address, so dont know if its anything to do with that. i keep getting "server not found" for a while then all of a sudden it works fine, when i ask my neighbours they say theirs has been fine so i`m thinking its my settings or something..
i have cleared my cookies and cache, dont know if its DNS Cache, and i have my settings to auto obtain as there was nothing came with the new router..
sorry but i really dont know anything about computers.
