A sudden outbreak of common sense on the boards?
Seriously though, housing bears can only be proved wrong so many times before it becomes obvious. It's clear they have no response. None at all.
Which is why the ad hominems are flowing freely today......This is the same poster who's occasional rebuttals to people include calling them "monkeyboy",
:rotfl:
One poster......
The Right Honourable Simian Macaque, President of the 70% Club. Sorry, but "Monkeyboy" is shorter and far easier to type.:D
And whilst I disagree with almost everything Macaque types, I rather suspect that he, like me, has a sense of humour and takes it in the way it is intended. How about the fact that he chooses not to respond to genuine questions like I posted to him on this thread in post 7 https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/33032807#Comment_33032807
In case anyone is too bored by now to have clicked the link, here it is.....Why do you think this is good news, & why the beer smiley. Is it because your "personal wealth" will increase at the cost of societies loss?
Yes.
I'm a heartless pr1ck, and I'm delighted that my personal wealth will increase at "the cost of societies loss". Whatever that means.
Now I'm a little hungry, so I'm off to eat some babies.....And he isn't man enough to offer an apology when proved wrong either.
Actually, on the very, very rare occasions I've been proved wrong on substantive house price issues, I've accepted it with good grace and a "mea culpa" right away.
But as it happens so rarely, I can see why you'd miss it....;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

I'm not defending Hamish, I'm attacking the wasters who contribute nothing. It just so happens they they choose to stalk Hamish but my posts would be the same regardless of whoever they choose to follow around saying "Get a life" to.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. But if they call themselves macaque

Boolsheet. You posted a load of stuff about me, & had multiple opportunities to withdraw, apologise, accept you got it wrong. You specifically chose not to. For all the bravado, you're not much of a man & clearly have no humility.
the flying pigs post above has you down to a tee. Your selectiveness is phenomenal. You are more like these "bears" who you rate as "delusional" than you realise, or would even like to accept. You choose what to comment on, & pick the questions you want to respond to, whilst not answering questions which genuinely challenge your perspective. Look at how dismissive you are about the question I asked & your nonsense response above.
Sad thing is, you could actually learn something if you challenged your own perspectives. Seems you are unwilling to though.I'm not defending Hamish, I'm attacking the wasters who contribute nothing. It just so happens they they choose to stalk Hamish but my posts would be the same regardless of whoever they choose to follow around saying "Get a life" to.
With all due respect Joeskeppi, doesn't come across that way. I may be wrong, but can't recall you posting any "get a life" type stuff in Hamish's direction. Comes across as supportive. However I accept that tone doesn't come across well on a BB. I do think there are issues around balance on here that some miss though. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
lemon belly is upset because Blackpool are going to last longer in the premiership than Wolves will...0

I don't post "get a life" type stuff at anyone... That's kinda my point. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Ahhh, so not a "substantive house price issue" then......
(gosh I miss the rolleyes smiley)
Sorry old bean, but you're rather proving Chucky's point......Chucky---

The reality is Hamish that you will always have the last word. This isn't necessarily because you are 'right' but because you will always have the time to come up with an answer and scour the Internet Loking for supporting sources. I have very limited spare time to look into house prices so use it to look at my local Market, which isn't relavent to anyone else on here.
I simply don't have the time or the desire to read, process and respond to a post that clearly took you about an hour to write. And in any case I already know the essence of your posts before I read them.... House prices will rise, housing shortage, all bears are idiots, Hamish is always right.....
However, I'm not a 'permabear' with blinkers. House prices are rising, you can't dispute that. The question is will it continue. IMO it's impossible to say because there is so much uncertainty at the moment. You can quote the opinions of all the experts you like, but they are just guessing and are probably the same 'experts' who failed to see 2008 coming.0
