I want to get out of my current job for something more me, but i know where youre coming from, it gets very boring looking up jobs. I have little experience in anything apart from retail and a bit of admin, so alot of jobs that i would love to do have a million people applying for them who have the experience. Im lucky im in full time work, if i didnt have a job i would still be actively searching and taking on anything to get me out of that situation.

I have been looking since last year. Sent of many CVs to jobs that state 'no experience necessary'....and I cant even get them! There is something going on because so many people are getting jobs without experience! What are they doing different to me! Its so annoying!

The sun is shining, trying to get a tan interferes with my job searching ;p
  • One good thing is that I may be eligible for free training (now they tell me after 5 months on the Flexible New Deal bullshine!) but that's only for CSCS, SIA or Forklift licence but anything's better than nowt and it's something else to put on my CV I suppose.

I was unemployed for about a year up until November last year. When I was claiming JSA i was eligible for free Open University courses.

Just realised this is about 2 months out of date but you may still be looking!

I sympathise if your having difficulty finding work. However JSA is tax-payer funded with an expectation for claimants to be actively searching for work. No matter how 'boring' it may be, if you want to continue claiming you should continue hunting. You owe it to those supporting you.

Exactly. I'm "bored" of getting up at 6am and going to work Monday - Friday, and "bored" of paying taxes so that other people can be "bored" at home, not looking for a job. I'm "bored" of it, but I do it, to pay my way.

  • I have today sent off my 75th application form since the end of March. I have had 3 interviews so far which is so galling.

I'm a graduate so I have look for graduate jobs and gradually worked downwards, got rejected for shop work on the basis i used to be self employed! That was the sum of the employers feedback.

Had the careers office check my last few applications too they feel they are ok, what I find awful for me personally is when I have done what I feel is a good application for a job, get a rejection without interview then the job is readverised, it actually really upset me today as 2 jobs I received rejections for were back in the paper!

I know how you feel. It's a wonder I have any hair left in my head after all these months and months of fruitless job applications!

Anyone else bored of looking for jobs - i've not looked for the past couple of weeks. I can't believe how rubbish it is right now, i'd relish the offer of an interview let alone a job but sadly I can't get either.

One good thing is that I may be eligible for free training (now they tell me after 5 months on the Flexible New Deal bullshine!) but that's only for CSCS, SIA or Forklift licence but anything's better than nowt and it's something else to put on my CV I suppose.
  • Can't remember if I mentioned this on another post but I had my free training assessment on June 15th and guess what........

........I'm not eligible for free training because "I'm not claiming benefits".
