Hello,
I recently applied to A&L for Current account that pays £100 for switching. I received debit card and online banking details. I logged online and did usual things to set up everything.
Then i tried to test the account operation by transferring £2 from my halifax account on Sunday. I did appear on the account by faster payment immediately but nothing shown on online statement.
Now then i added my halifax account as new payee. My halifax account number starts with leading 0XXXXXXX. When i added as new payee in A&L, the leading 0 disappeared and shown only rest of the digits.
I then transferred back £1 from A&L to my halifax on Sunday. It said payment will be next working day subject to sufficient funds. I was expecting a faster payment next day.
I happily confirmed it but surprisingly money left the account immediately and nothing shown on the statement. I waited today and logged back again to check whether it is transferred to halifax acc but no. I looked at A&L and money is not there and nothing is shown on the statement or pending payments.
At the moment it only shows £2 credit but balance is £1 and no record of another £1.
God damn I wonder are they working in medieval age. Why cant they just show whats happening in the account promptly. I would have gone crazy if I tried with few hundred pounds.
Waiting to see whether it would appear in my halifax acc in few days or could cause problem of discarding leading 0 from the account number.

Don't worry about the leading zeros, my A&L doesn't show them either and my transfers go fine.
Money sent to A&L by FP will usually show on the available balance within a few minutes, but not on the online statement until the next day.
The first time you send money out of A&L to a new account it will go by BACS, after that payments of up to £250 should go by FP.0 -
Thanks for the info. That looks somewhat promising with A&L.0
