carers allounce for my son??? ASD.

hi all.
i am desperate need for good advice please

my son age almost 6, has had a 1 on 1 since he started school when he was 4, due to developmental delay, and the fact he ran off alot, didnt see danger etc, well things have got so so much worse over the years and he has now been excluded for over a week as he threw something the other day and split someones head open, and she needed stitches and a xray, the girls parents have said if my son doesnt leave the school then there child will, as she is terrified of him, so the school authoroties said he cant come back and have taken her side, as they rightly should.
they did say however he can come back after half term for mornings only, with his 1 on 1 all the time, but he can no longer be taught in the same classroom, instead he has to be put back another year to mix with the reception class, and then taught in a room alone with his 1 0n 1, and he has to have seperate play times to the other children as he is seen to be a danger and cant be with them, only for play times/ activity times with the reception children, or if he hurts anyone else then he will have to be permanently isolated with his 1 0n 1.
at the moment we are awaiting for him to be assessed by the ASD panel for autism/asd/aspergers. as we all think he is on the spectrum somewhere
.
My question is, what if i worked? luckily i dont as i have a 3 year old aswell, and am a stay at home mum, for now anyway until she goes to school in 15 months time. also i am having to teach him at home for the next week, the school sent him work home, which is very hard as he will not and doesnt know how to concentrate.
my 3 yr old goes to nursery 2 days a week, so i can have 1 0n 1 with him them days, and teach him then, but it will be hard to when she is home too.
we have all agencies involved , CAMHS, SALT, social worker, parent partnership, peaditrition, ed psych, senco, etc etc. the assessment for a statement was accepted and we are going through the relevant things and waiting times for the 26 week outcome.
i have been told that until he has a statement and a diagnosis then we cant claim for CARERS allounce. which i didnt even know anything about until the senco mentioned it.

My question is, why cant i apply for it now as he is not in school, and he will only be in for 5 mornings, and if it goes the way it has been lately then there will be alot more exclusions, and he has had 13 in a week and a half now, 3 also which were not noted down, just written as ill, and he can only have 15 then he will have to leave school for good. camhs told me they will bring someone in to teach him but it may only be for 5 hrs a week, and i will have to do the rest. so can i claim for anything if this is the case? as i will have to get my 3 yr old in nursery whilst i teach him and it costs us £65 a month just for 2 days now as we have to pay for lunch time, a hour in the am and 2 hrs in the pm for dp to collect her after work , as its too far to walk there and back, let alone with my son who wont walk without running off/ sitting down etc etc.

we may be waiting for a year or more for the final desision of the diagnosis if not longer, so what do i do? my life is now on hold, i have had to cancel my dailt routines/ play groups with daughter and days out, which i dont mind but i feel she will wonder what is going on and miss her friends, as i am also not aloud to take him out of the home between 9 and 3;30 as its against the rules of exclusion, and today i had to go for bread and milk, and we live right next to the school, so if they see me then i will get charged!! as the letter from them explaines. and i dont drive, so how can i do this for all the coming future??

can i claim for carers do you think? as he cant do anything alone, cant even go to the loo alone as he floods the place or unrolls the loo roll, have to hide everything as if he even finds a pen he draws on walls, or wrecks anything he fins, plus his tantrums and obsessiond are awful, he throws chairs, tables, anything he can get hold of, then i have a 3 yr old to watch also.

its such a mess, i am meant to be joining collage in september and doing a volunteer doula course and i am accepted and been on waiting list for over a year, now i cant do that, as i will be home teaching.

please advise, thanks you xxx

I'm sorry, your post is quite confusing. Would it be possible to summarise what you need to know please? Bullet points often make things easier to follow.
    Gone ... or have I?

Your post is very confusing sorry !
My son has severe autism he is 12 non verbal and still in nappies...he gets disability living allowance at high rate care and mobility, so unless your son gets dla at middle or high care you wont be able to claim carers allowance
:AAutism isn't the end of the world just a journey to another one:A

As already explained, you will not get carers allowance unless your son has at least middle rate care component of Disability Living Allowance.

You can claim Dislability Living Allowance (DLA) for your son now. You do not need to wait for a diagnosis or a statement - although these can help.

DLA has two components - mobility and care. To get these you need to show that your son's needs are greater than the needs of other children of his age.

The application forms can be a little daunting, and if you don't mind me saying, you don't express yourself very clearly. I would suggest that you get help filling in the forms. If you go to the Citizens Advice or to a disability charity like DIAL they will help you decide whether your son might be eligible for DLA and also they will fill the forms in for you. They offer this service for free. (Although if you can afford a donation they are very grateful!)

Have a chat with your social worker and ask them to explain how disability benefits work

Getting back on topic  welcome to the boards, mum, and can I suggest you contact IPSEA because it doesn't sound to me as if the school are acting correctly.
