If you are careful you can stuff them
cut a small hole in the patty pan, then add cheese onion and perhaps some chilli and then roast them in the oven until they are soft and cooked though

As PP says, they are realy quite bland. The upside of that is that they can take on the flavours of other foods. It's so easy to grow them nd i find that each plant produces a considerable amount of patty pan...i planted quite a few so have looooooooooads of patty pan.
Last night i roasted some with some onion and potatoes and they were quite nice, but i think i might cook some and then blend then down to a puree and freeze it. The puree can then be added to soups and stews and casseroles and well, lots of meals.
I have to say that despite how productive the plants have been, since i like quite strong flavours, i find them a bit boring. Having said that, i've not tried them stuffed, as per wssla00's suggestion....i might give that a go.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Hi kippers,
As your thread has dropped down the board I've added it to the existing thread on patty pan which might give you some more ideas to keep the suggestions together.
