Help connecting please?

Hi all sorts of problems over the weekend tried to change to Sky from Virgin (didnt work but after 8 hours had enough and am sticking to virgin!! - dont ask!!) but now I've gone back to virgin cant get connected to the internet says limited connectivity what do i need to go onto to get connected again direct connection or local connection?? (on computer in work at present!!) any ideas in simple english please??

Is the connection you are using going to be wireless or ethernet/cabled connection?

Restart your router (power it off and restart after a few mins)

Basically the 'Limited Connection' shows that your computer can see the wireless router or knows theres a network cable connected but can only see the network you have in your house and cannot access the internet beyond your router.

This could be a) Virgin has been disconnected and there is no internet access to your house b) your router is not connected correctly to your broadband virgin modem.

First, check the cables at the back of your router are securely plugged in. Also what lights are on/flashing on your router? This will say if you have internet access or not.

Post up what you see as happening on your router.

You may need to call Virgin as there maybe an issue their end.

Switch everything off. Wait 30 seconds.
Dont have a router connected for now

Switch on the modem first (Wired via ethernet to the computer)
Once its settled then switch on the pc

Phoned up virgin but because I have a wireless router not supplied by them the wont help! So I have to take it out and connect direct to the pc and then phone them back (peak rate phone call so not happy!!)
