    although the problem is of course if he thinks it is worth that much it won't help his perceptions of the capital value of the space.

    Thanks again guys, to be honest I think the guy just stuck it on-line and £10 was a figure that popped into his head while he was placing the add. - I think it's way too high as shoppers could park much closer for about £3-5 per day, or a bit closer for free! - Sorry I should have included this in my origional question. I think for the time being I'll just get in my house and settled and maybe think about approaching the guy a bit further down the line - although I think long term rental looks more likely than actually buying it now.

    I have no idea where you are but normally you have to pay about £10k for a parking space when they are extra for new build flats unless you are looking at flat in a city centre which could be £15k or more perhaps so I wouldn't pay more than £10k, try offering £5k first.

    It would probably involve quite a bit of legal work if the space is attached to a property as at wont have separate title deeds so you will be looking at £1500-2000 in legals if you have to pay his too.
