I've ordered one of these for MIL, the guy who was going to install it tomorrow has cancelled so I'll have to go and do it myself.

It's a replacement for the earlier model, the Horstmann Electronic 7 (the LCD display is failing on hers). As far as I can see from the instructions, it's a straight swap using the existing wiring to the old back box. You just isolate the power, undo two screws to remove the front panel and remove the old unit by unplugging connectors 1 to 5. Then reconnect 1 to 5 to the new unit, and replace the screws to secure the panel, switch on the power and programme it.
So no wiring required. Could someone who knows these please confirm if it is indeed a straight swap using the old back box, and is there anything else I need to know? Thanks.

The spec says it's a straight swap for all previous versions of the Horstmann Electronic 7-just thought a second opinion would be worthwhile though! Thanks. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks, just to confirm it is a straight plug in swap, it took about 5 mins. Took me a lot longer to find out from Yorkshire Electricity how I set it up for their teleswitching Economy 7 meters though...do their meters auto-adjust for BST/GMT? They don't seem to know themselves...
I also asked Southern Electricity to confirm their E7 hours, and they could only tell me 'probably' 12.30-7.30am.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
