Can anyone recommend a place to get a pre MOT service done.
Any good / bad experiences?
I usually use Linday Ford but they are far too expensive.

I use e.j. motors on derry road in glengormley.
Previous threads have recommended them and they seem to be good, polite and reasonably priced.
Their phone number is 90836495.0 -

I know eddie and johns garage well.
Whilst they ARE good mechanics , i find them to be VERY expensive .

I usually just check the obvious stuff like lights and tyres etc then stick it in for the mot and fix what it fails on and pay for a retest?0

Thanks for the feedback, I might just do that, although I always feel safer knowing that my car has had an annual service.0

I haven't used E.J. Motors in Glengormley personally, but know of at least 5 people in the office here who swear by themNorn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

Absolutely, get the car its annual service, but take it for an MoT first. That way, if it fails, you just take it to the garage for the service with your fail sheet. "Please give my car a 40,000 mile service, plus fix these faults". Book it in for MoT a couple of weeks before its expiry date - if it passes, you get the extra time (up to a max of 28 days) on your new certificate, and if it fails, you've got a while to get it fixed before running out of time :-)0 -
I usually just put the car through like joanne d and oooOOOooo (!) (check all light bulbs, tyre treads and obvious stuff) and then you only need to fix whatever it fails on if anything. I've done this for the past 6 or 7 years. If you need something done or a service, Brian Carson (BC Motors) is very good. Somewhere out towards Ballyclare (you go past Corrs Corner).

We used Abbeycar yesterday and we did not have any issues with the works thats been done. Everything ran smoothly and the service was quick and was completed in the timescale that was given, will be using them again :-)0
