Capital investment prior to overseas property purchase

After an imminent house sale in the UK we intend to buy a property in Spain. For the next 6 – 12 months we need to invest approx £120K but need to maximise exchange rate return and interest rates whilst minimising any associated costs. Can anybody recommend a suitable course of action. We are considering an offshore account in Euros – will this help us? Also need to minimise any cost associated with funds transfer to Spain. Looking forward to any suggestions. Many thanks.

I notice Hargeaves Lansdown has a new currency service which enables you to fix the exchange rate in advance, might be helpful. But haven't checked the small print.
