Changing supplier if owe money

Does anybody know if you can change supplier and take your debt with you or do you need to pay it off?? I'm currently paying £76 a month for gas and £47 for electric. NPower kindly split my quarterly bill for both over 12months but this still seems a bit steep (for the two of us who are out at work all day). Have I just got to keep paying until I can find a better supplier?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!:)

You say how much you are paying each month but how much of this is repaying a debt, how much for ongoing fuel usage and how much is you total debt?

Most suppliers will not ley you change supplier when you are in debt and also when you change suppliers you have to pay everything you owe (debt or otherwise) on receipt of your final bill.
