Underpayment of child tax credits 2009 to 2010

i have just rang up the child tax people as i believe we have been underpaid for the last year 09 to 10 in our child taxes, totally my error for not sorting it (actually i think i tried but was waiting on the phone for hours !) on last years form which i have found earnings were £27'000 plus but were more likely £19'000.
i have to wait for my re-newal form to amend this ~ he didn't do it over the phone..can't find 2009 's p60 but husband has asked and he can get a proof of earings for the period needed (08/09) earnings from work.
if we are entitled to a refund ~ has anyone advice on how much?
am just so shocked as we normally get £42 a month and now gone up to £300 per month as i gave them my husbands p60 take home pay a couple of weeks ago (£19100) which according to the provisional tax credit form is right now.
if only i new (silly me) things have been a right struggle.:(
will i really get a refund !???!
any info would be appreciated x

PK,
You will get an automatic refund, normally 2 to 4 weeks after renewal. The amount will depend entirely on your personal circumstances. You can chek it by doing the benefits calculator on the main page, search for Entitledto.co.uk, just answer the questions and it will give you a figure that should have been claimed for last year, you can then compare to what you actually recieved from last year.0 -
Do also keep a check on your bank account as it seems they are issuing refunds alot earlier then they are the sending the paperwork out.0

We got our underpayment (about £400) through over 2 weeks before the paperwork came through0
