Went to pay for an item

I have just bought an item on eBay and went to pay for it through direct bank funding as I normally do, but its greyed out and I can't pay for it unless through card or echeque , 3 weeks ago I won another item that was almost 4 times the price and funded no problem, and I bought something yesterday with funding.


What is going on, and why must I find out the reason why with a company in the States when I am in the UK?

I've not come across this as I rarely buy on Ebay, but it could be that your PP account needs verification or limits lifting.

You can ring a UK number - I can't give it as mine says business account team. But if you log on and go to contact us, you can get the number you need.

Do ensure that you only put your details into the legitimate Paypal site & not any pop-ups.
I know probably teaching Grandma to suck eggs.
Just in case it's a scam to get your details.

No it was on the proper paypal account so no worries there, and my account is verified as it gives the echeque option plus it tells me it is, also i've got a backup payment through my mastercard. And as I said i've bought something 2 days ago which was delivered today. I'm confused about this.

Well looking at their terms about sending money I am none of the wiser, I have used nutrecare & dabs with no problem, use eBay that they own and I can't do bank direct funding, its very strange!

I had this with a US transaction once it just wouldn't let me do my normal bank funding even though I buy stuff from the US all the time with Bank funding

I ended up transferring money from my Micropayments account to fund it. Its never happened since so I still have no clue why that transaction

Yes but its strange as the seller is uk based as well as myself, what the hell a reference agency in a country i've never been to in my life can have on me is beyond me. I have bought hundreds of items like this and there has been no problem at all, and everything is setup okay. Speaking to paypal or ebay on the phone is like speaking to aliens, think I just use my card then

Thats a bit of a red Herring as it reads like its a standard response for US Paypal customers the equivalent of telling us to get a Credit report from experion
so I don't think its directly related to this problem

I think its just a glitch with Paypal
