Hay on Wye Literary Festival

Options
Hi All

Has anyone been to the Hay Festival before? Anyone going this year? I'm going to a wedding in Ross on Wye this weekend and am hoping to combine it with a day or two at Hay. Is there much going on outside of the ticketed events? Will there be much to do between events? What's it like for parking? I'm guessing busy and expensive..? Same for eating? Any tips for both of these?

Cheers,

Jamp

    I'm going!

Its my first time though, so nothing helpful except that tickets are per event on the festival website here: http://www.hayfestival.com/portal/index.aspx?skinid=1&localesetting=en-GB

Also, think about how you're getting there, I've been to Hay at other times (for the books) and the roads aren't built for serious traffic. As we're camping a few miles up the valley I intend to cycle (gently) from there.

    Have fun!
