Interior window sill repair / replace?

I have a window sill that has kind of warped slightly.
I've stripped the paint off it (using Nitromors) and i think it's MDF
I'm guessing this is due to water getting in somehow...
(I've only just bought the house, and currently redecorating)
The windows are UPVC, and look fairly recent - so I'm thinking (hoping) the water got in before they were replaced.
What are my options in terms of repair?
How easy are they to replace?
The window sill itself is one of those ones that looks kind of built in to the wall - with the edges dissapearing into the plaster - I can't see a way to get it out, even if i did want to replace..?

if its mdf and its got wet, dont even try and repair it. replace it.
they come out fairly easily. cut it in half with hammer and chisel. and rip the two halves out.
the new one (cut to size) will/should slide into position. you may need to chisel/trim/clean the plaster up a bit.
make good afterwards.Get some gorm.0 -
