Post Office won't do BT's to American Express - Beware!

Recently opened a Post Office Platinum card to take advantage of fee free balance transfer and 0% deal (Martin's best buy) and today rang up to transfer a balance from my Amex (cashback) card. However, I was told that they did not do transfers to Amex but the call handler was unable to explain why. She even seemed surprised herself. Anyone else heard this? Specifically opened this card to transfer my Amex balance and did not see this condition mentioned anywhere.
