Help Needed! I dont know what to do

Last year I bought a pair of summery shoes in the sales from New Look. They've been sat at the back of my wardrobe and as its been nice recently, I put them on yesterday and they completely split in half between the heel and the soul (on the sloping down bit) -hard to explain I know! As it was a while ago and in the sales, I dont have the receipt. To be honest, I didnt quite expect a pair of shoes to split in half within one minute of putting them on. I didnt even walk anywhere. I dont know if I have any rights but they obviously aren't fit for purpose. I have the sticky labels that were on them if that makes a difference and you can see they havent been worn at all. I know they were only £25, but being a student, every penny counts really and its just like Ive chucked money down the drain!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

OP, I wouldn't get yourself all het up....;)
If the shoes have been sat in your wardrobe all this time then they weren't very important.
You spent the money last year so you have gone past them.
Speak to the shop, you won't be any worse off if they send you packing.
Good luck, but I seriously doubt they will do anything for you.0 -
It's worth a shot. Did you pay by cash or card? If you paid by card you could try to get hold of your bank statement which has the transaction on.
For the record I love New Look but never buy shoes from them- even for fashion shoes they are notoriously flimsy, uncomfortable and break apart in no time. I doubt you'll be the first person with such a complaint so that might help your case.
Good luck!0
