Cheapest journey London-Workington

Options
Hi peeps, I really need help again.
I really cannot get my head around split ticketing and I need to go from Euston to Workington on Tues 29th June and returning on 6th July.
I cannot leave before 29th but I am flexible after that for min 4 days max 6.
We are 1 adult plus a 16 and a 17 year old (both students but no travel cards)
Best I found is £211 return so far :eek:

If you don't mind it taking a couple of hours longer, try getting a ticket to Lancaster, then a separate ticket up to Workington via Barrow, on the coastal line.

Split ticketing doesn't work when there are through advance single fares available for the journey

Not normally anyway - I am sure there are exceptions.
