I have been to Turkey (Bodrum area) in October.
The weather usually is like a hot summer's day over here, but it can be less reliable than the earlier months in the summer. If you're unlucky and it's wet and windy, it can be quite depressing.
Also, it is the tail end of the season, so expect things to be running down - some tourist shopping areas will be closing down or even closed altogether and many of the shops in them will have depleted stocks.
Personally, I like it at that time of year because the main holiday crowds have gone and you get tourist areas and beaches uncluttered. Restaurants will welcome you with open arms and the charter flights are less crowded too.0 -
if you're unsure of the weather in turkey in that month then egypt is a good choice, lovely and hot all winter (especially in luxor!)0

Spent two weeks in Dalyan last September.....if you choose this resort you will not be disappointed.

I spent a week in Marmaris Oct '06 and it was really hot every day (around 28-30c), even the day there was a huge storm! There was no indication that the season was winding down there, it was lively day and night.0
