TV and Blue Ray player HELP!

I wondered if anyone could help. We have just bought a Samsung Samsung UE40C6530U LED HD and DVD and Samsung HT-C5200 Blue Ray system.
It is fantastic but there is one slight issue. We have a 2.1 surround sound system which we have linked and we use this instead of the normal tv sound.
We don't know where we are going wrong as we have set it up to switch off together, but it won't do it to switch it on - and the Blue Ray doesn't eject the DVD's when we press the eject button on the remote...
any ideas?

i tihnk the OP has set up a blu ray player with the tv and sound system but the whole lot won't switch it on at same tim(they have got it to turn off together)
and the player wont eject the discs when the eject button is pressed on the remote
in answer to the blu ray player has it batteries in it, does the other buttons on the remote work0 -
buy one these . this is the basic model i have . saves a lot of time and hassle
