Freeview box memory wiped! Help!

My freeview recording box had been playing up and today the recorded list is empty "not available" it was 80% full before.

Is there any way of getting the programmes back?
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:

    I can't help because I have Sky , but it would help others if you say which Box you have
