I don't have the details to hand but my Mum opened a current account with Lloyds last week. She said there is a monthly charge of £10 on the account. Does anyone know anything about this, account? Is it worth paying the £10?
She will have her salry paid into this account which will then be used to pay her Direct Debits. Her savings are kept elsewhere. She is seeing an advisor tomorrow to open a savings account as she has £8000+ to be moved into a better saving account (where its at just now it isn't making much).
Thanks,
Chell
P.S I'll email her to get the account details.

Sounds to me like she's been signed up to a Gold Service account ... I'll let you make up your own mind whether it's worth it:

think she has possibly got the platinum account as this has been discounted to £10 for the first 3 months then goes up to £15 per month0

If she is seeing a Lloyds advisor then they will only flog her Lloyds or C&G products (which are not the best imo). Much better to put the money in one of the best buys on moneyfacts.co.uk.0

Thanks, It was the Lloyds TSB Gold Account which costs £10 per month and gives 3% interest on the first £500.
She is just seeing the advisor at Lloyds but looking at other options also.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0
