PGL holiday - what to pack

Hi

My son is off on a PGL kids holiday tomorrow with a friend:j Its a 4 night multi activity holiday.

I have packed what it says on the list, just bought a waterproof jacket and trousers as it looks like rain

Is there anything else you would suggest. I didn't know if I should send him with any snacks? Is 3 pairs of joggers really enough? Will he wear the dressing gown it says to take and is filling most of the bag?

I know lots of parents on this site have sent their kids and help appreciated.

Are his jammies decent? Does he normally wear his dg at home? If he's cold, he can always slip a jumper on over his jammies to go to the loo etc. I woulnd't suggest sending any snacks, as they often don't allow food in the dorms/tents as they attract vermin :( If he's anything like my kids, he'll wear the same pair of joggers every day for a week as long as they aren't wet!
Wet wipes are always handy, and a bin bag for dirty washing!
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Thermal vest and boxer shorts, just in case it gets cold.

    I've been Money Tipped!
His case is full. I am sure you are right Raksha, the same clothes will be worn the whole time!

OK, I will forget about sending any snacks. Maybe miss out the dressing gown. Do they have to be dressed before breakfast? I was not sure when he might be expected to wear it as it was on the packing list.

Its the one at Boreatton Park he is going to. A multi activity one with indoor accomadation.

Roughly how old is he? I.e. old enough to worry about his appearance? My niece and nephew go to PGL fairly often. My niece probably spends most of her time in the bathroom doing her hair (just like home!). As far as I can tell my nephew (10 yrs) wears the same set of clothes the whole time, and probably sleeps in them too. The smell on the journey home is something special ;-)

So, I would suggest, jumpers for layers, some slip-on plimsolls or similar, so he can get shoes on quickly if he wants to go to the toilet or over to breakfast, and a couple of bin bags to stick wet clothes in.

Hope he has a great time :-)
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.
  • Dont pack jeans.. take ages to dry.. most of these centres have drying facilities ir rooms.. so light weight joggers are a must bout 4 pairs.. at least 2 pairs of trainers.. 1 for water 1 for best, jumpers, t shirts plenty, undies etc... ditch the dressing gown doubtless he will wear it.., maybe a decentish shirt for the last night disco( usual thing ), EARPLUGS are a must.. lol

My DD just returned complaining bout one of the other girls snoring all night and keeping ev1 awake.. lol so maybe a slipper or two to launch at the offenders...

Seriously hope he has a good time..
