Experience of Kitchen Companies?

I'm looking for a new kitchen for a house we're renovating. I've just had a quote from Simply Kitchens which seems like a good price. Has anybody had any experience with them? I've only got 7 days to back out of I don't want it, so advice sooner rather than later would be much appreciated!

lots of firms called simply kitchens. If it was just a cheap quote you went for then you'll probably get a cheap kitchen0

Kitchen prices can vary a lot, as can the standard of installation, I would want to see examples of their work along with quotes from two or three others0

make sure they are nothing to do with any manchester/oldham firms, with vance miller as director.
google his name.Get some gorm.0 -
Thanks both, will look into it!0

oldham and rochdale are both in greater manchester.
mr miller uses many company names, and even uses other directors to front for him.

I would get a quote from Howdens before you commit. Very good quality kitchens, good service and well priced0

Thanks everyone. We've cancelled with SK as they do seem to be connected with Miller based on lots of reviews and I'm not willing to take the risk.
We have a Howdens quote (though through builder so not really sure what the actual cost is).
Is it true that you get a better price on cabinets with Howdens/Benchmarx etc when you also buy their appliances/appliances through them? I can get Bosch appliances for less on the internet than their own brand appliances and would prefer to do this, unless it drives the cabinet cost up... any views?0 -
Definitely avoid Simply Kitchens/Kitchens Simply (and whatever other names they go by). I cancelled within 24 hours of placing my order and am still waiting for confirmation of the cancellation and for my deposit back!:mad:0

We bought our kitchen from Howdens and were very pleased with the designer we dealt with. She actually whispered to us that we'd be able to get cheaper appliances elsewhere which we did - all online. Our branch of Howdens allows non-trade people to order from them. We got between 50% and 70% discount depending what the item was. We used a fitter picked from a list of suggestions they gave us. He did a grand job on the kitchen including the tiling, plumbing and electrics (he's an electrician too). We just had him rip out the main bathroom and refit - it looks great. At the end of July he's doing our en-suite. Yes - we have spent a few bob but the house needed it.
Our kitchen and utility are quite big and the whole lot including tiling and flooring, appliances came in at a whisper over £10,000.0
