Depends if she has worked in her test period and what NI she has been paying? She can request when it starts getting paid also, ie week before she is due etc.
BUT she cannot work while claiming maternity allowance. You are allowed 10 keeping in touch days but thats all and usually taken near the end of maternity leave0 -
