Lock code, don't know it.

I have always had a sim lock meaning when i turn on my phone i need to enter my password, just prefer the safety option.

I have a new phone and always thought the default code was 0000. I looked in my manual and it doesn't tell me what it is, just saying the pin is what was supplied with my sim card.

I can't find anything in my sim card pack that tells me this.

Do i need to phone 3 up and ask what it is so i can change it to what i want?

Ive not used the pin lock for years as im worried that id muck it up, yes id call 3 and see if they know

You could try 1234.

0000 or 1234 are common, although on some phones it is 12345 as the default. It really can vary though. Generally the lock is not turned on by default, did you activate it by accident or do you just need to know it to change the code.

The operator is the best bet to get the code from.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't activate it by accident, i needed the default code in order to then change it to what i wanted.

It was 00 00 after all. Im new to all this and had to activate the use of it 1st before trying to change it, so simple when you think about it, but i didn't know and my manual is so not at all useful it doesn't tell you how to do these things.

But plus side, rang up for the code and at the same time set a 0 credit limit on my account so can't go over my mins etc.

3 state a credit limit is not a budgeting tool. You can actually exceed your limit of £0.
