Bee Nest

Our bird box at the back of our garden has been used every year by nesting Great Tits. Until this year that is.
This year the box has been taken over by Bees. Frankly I dont know whether I should be pleased or worried. On the one hand we are told to encourage bees as they seem to be in decline, but not in my back yard comes to mind.
Whenever I mow the lawn near the box, bees start bouncing off my face, probably warning me to stay away. So far I havent been stung.
Should I leave well alone or should I get rid of them?
Anyone with experience of this? your comments would be welcome.
(It takes 26 muscles in the face to make a frown, and only 13 muscles to make a smile. So why waste energy?):D

Have a look at this website, there are contacts for the Bristol area that you could ask advice from.
