I had really bad issues with an AOL update that went crazy last year. Couldn't access at all, call centre idiots kept telling me to download broadband drivers (using what???) and then this and then that.

Got run around for ages. I was certain that the upgrade had affected my broadband modem, but they didn't agree.

Felt that I shouldn't have to buy another modem because it was something that AOL should have tested for and after all - if I'd gone to another company they would have provided a modem free of charge as part of the deal.

So, I called AOL customer services and told them that I wanted to cancel my subscription because of the poor service that I had received. They bent over backwards. Got new modem and serveral months free subscription free. Why don't you call them and 'threaten' to leave them if you don't get help and things aren't fixed. I'm sure that if they want to keep you they will make sure that you are connected to tech support.
  • They didn't get the nickname 'AOHell' for nothing!
