growing cornichons for 1st time

Hi All,
Have planted about 10 cornichon seeds and now have 1st three coming through. Can anyone out there tell me what to expect? ie how tall, are they easy to handle? Other seeds planted at same time are far more advanced. Is this normal or are they hard to grow making me lucky to have three or are they easy to grow meaning I am doing something wrong? Any advice will be much appreciated.
