hello all im asking this question for a freind:
this person has not worked as they have had long term health issues and other illnesses however was told to claim for IB and DLA and has been on these for sometime, situation has changed where a partner and subsequent marriage who works has come to the fold does this affect benefit entitlement due to the partner and income etc ?
some help would be appreciated!

Those benefits won't be affected - DLA is non-means tested and neither is IB.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Does they claim housing/council tax benefit as that is means tested?I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

ok thanks0 -
i forgot to ask if she has been claiming child benefit is there any comeback on the husband or repayments due from her ?0
-
child benefit no but if she claims tax credits the single claim should be closed down when he moves in and they would open a joint claim based on the household income
If this was not done there will probably be an overpayment0 -
i moved in with my fiancee a year ago and put in a joint claim immediately. I get about 35 a week from tax credits. If i hadnt done a joint claim then id probably get about 65 a week
Make sure she tells them of any changes ASAP as she will have to back pay any over-payments from the period he has lived with her xxcamp 12=£443 13=£425 14=£277 15=£474 16=£492 17=£438 18=£437 1=£319 2=£153:o 3=£220 :jSALES LEADER:j4=£202 5=£191 6=£167 7=£193 8=£216 9=£211

If they have not worked for a long time it would be worth clarifying if they are on IB or IS for reason of Incapacity. IB is usually (though not always) dependent on NI Contributions which would be gained through work.Gone ... or have I?0 -
