Building regs drawing from measurements and photos

I'm planning a small, relatively simple extension to replace my conservatory. The build falls under permitted development and therefore does not require planning permission but I want to get a building regs drawing done for building control approval and for a builder to quote to and work from.
I have been offered a building regs drawing for around £350.00, but it will be drawn from sketches, measurements and photos that I will provide. The chap who offers this service seems very genuine and I am keen to go down this route but I'd like to know if anyone else has had a good experience having plans drawn up this way.

I would only go with someone who comes to site and visits and takes the measurements him self. Either look in the phone book or google CIAT and find a local CIAT member.0

There is no way you can draw up a plan with accurate measurements from photo's and measurements from the customer, and I sure as hell wouldn't give an estimate if I didn't have the right info to start with.
PS
Actually I would give an estimate, but it would be just that...an estimate.
If I later tipped up on site and found the goalposts had moved because of an error in the plans, then you can easily kiss goodbye to any estimate I had previously provided (and the law would be on my side).Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
If your builder is competent and conversant with the building regs, then you could do the extension on a Building Notice which doesn't require any plans, you just have the work inspected on site at certain stages.0
